Born in Russia in 1887, renowned artist Marc Chagall is acclaimed for his unique vision informed by his Jewish heritage and desire to express his spiritual principles.  Immediately distinct for his lexicon of symbolic motifs, Chagall’s work has a depth of colour which has such compelling impact it has been described as the purest form of ‘living’.  Merging ideas from both reality and fantasy, Chagall was involved with and influenced some of the most dynamic movements of the 20^th Century including Surrealism, Cubism and Fauvism.  Marc Chagall is a modern master, refusing to be defined by a single concept and instead celebrated for his great legacy following his death aged 97 in 1985.

The collection will include work from Chagall as well as Picasso, Matisse, Miro and Dali to name but a few.

BREAKING NEWS – DOROTHY AND TOTO STUDY WILL BE AVAILABLE AS A SMALL AND EXCLUSIVE EDITION OF JUST 75.

Gallery Rouge are delighted to unveil the brand new work from Artist of the Year 2012, Kerry Darlington, an extraordinary homage to the 1939 film, ‘Wizard of Oz’. Focused upon Dorothy and Toto, the composition shows the iconic ruby slippers. Interestingly, Kerry has noted, “Did you know Dorothy wore silver shoes in the book? They introduced red slippers for the film.”

Kerry was excited in announcing that this composition will be the first time she has ever released an image of a study for acquisition, “I am making this 14″ study a Limited Edition of just 75, where it will be officially launched on Sunday 3rd February and then delivered for client viewings in a couple of weeks. The bigger piece will be finished in a few months’ time.”

Gallery Rouge will play host to a unique four day originals show at its newest gallery in Harpenden with the work of Neil Buchanan, the multi-award winning fine artist, producer and creator of the twice BAFTA winning TV programme ART ATTACK!.

The four day original event from Friday 30 November to Monday 3 December (from 10am to 5.30pm) will be held in Gallery Rouge, High Street, Harpenden and will herald the UK and world-wide debut of Neil Buchanan’s original art. Added to this, Neil Buchanan will appear at a Private Collectors’ Evening on Friday 30 November from 7-9pm.

The Neil Buchanan ’Originals Collection’ will feature the extraordinary original work from Neil Buchanan’s Hope Street and Back Street Games which, until now, have only been released as a collection of limited edition prints.
