The fantastic collection 'Hope Street' on display at Gallery Rouge
Gallery Rouge was delighted to welcome ‘Art Attack’ star Neil Buchanan into the gallery to launch his very first collection of fine art limited editions from the acclaimed collection ‘Hope Street’.
Clients and Art Attack fans alike were not disappointed; as soon as Buchanan walked through the door he announced in his famous Liverpudlian accent that there would be ‘time to have a natter’ with everyone. New collectors waited patiently to inform the artist of which of the 12 pieces they had selected to display in their homes. Speaking of the collection, Buchanan attested that ‘Hope Street’ refers to a youthful state of mind, nostalgic of a childhood where parents needn’t worry about their young ones playing in the street, or disappearing during a game of hide and seek.
Buchanan has come far from his roots in the North, with a BAFTA awarded for his work on Art Attack however it became apparent when discussing his intentions with gallery owner Kuldip Chohan that he was out to prove himself, “after 17 years I still used to get people coming up to me in the street and saying ‘I saw you on TV last night, Art Attack is awesome, but can you really draw?’”
The answer is overwhelmingly positive, affirmed by the appreciation and acquisition of his work by many clients and attendees. Gallery Rouge is proud to be amongst only a handful of galleries to represent Neil Buchanan’s work and will be excited to welcome the artist back into the gallery with his anticipated second fine art collection in 2012.
