Kal Gajoum – Official Artist of the 2010 Winter Olympics

Following on from the hugely successful event with legendary photographer Terry O’Neill, Gallery Rouge was delighted to hold their latest exhibition with Canadian based art sensation Kal Gajoum. Hugely desired and collected, Gajoum’s work is a  masterclass in textured oil painting. Gajoum was in personal attendance on Saturday 20 March and commented “I love England, and was very excited to bring a strong collection of work inspired by my many years having lived here and in Europe. The reception has been fantastic!”

When asked why to exhibit in St Albans and not central London “I chose to work with Kuldip because he is passionate about art, and in helping his clients find outstanding paintings. I’m looking forward to working closely with Gallery Rouge on future projects – watch this space!”

Gallery owner Kuldip Chohan was equally pleased “This event has been a year in the making, and I’m thrilled Kal agreed to fly over from Canada for this special one-off event. I know how busy Kal is, and we have had people travelling great distances to be able to see and acquire his beautiful paintings. His work has to be viewed in the flesh to be truly appreciated – he is deservedly creating waves in the art world”

With a career spanning over twenty years, Gajoum has quite literally travelled a long way from his birthplace of Tripoli. Gajoum’s exquisite use of the palette knife stands him apart. His mesmerising work achieves a warmth and depth seldom accomplished; he is able to bring to life street scenes from around the world, and his paintings often epitomise the café culture of romantic cities.
