Gallery Rouge was thrilled to host its ‘Coast to Coast’ exhibition with headlining artist Ben Payne. Ben was in the gallery between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday, September 19th. Ben’s high-impact land, sky and seascapes are inspired by the British coastline. He owes an artistic debt to a range of artists, in particular Turner and Whistler. Their influence can be seen in the way he captures the appearance of clouds with such delicacy, while employing a vivid and dramatic palette – a characteristic which lends his works an ethereal quality. In addition, original work from leading British artists Peter Wileman, Philip Gray, David Renshaw, Barry Hilton and Mia Cameron was also on display.

Work in Progress

Ben was kind enough to produce a sketch for budding art enthusiast Allie Hawkes, who was thrilled with her memento.
